Blue Bombers acquire punter from Eskimos

02/23/2012 - Winnipeg, MB (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday acquired punter Eric Wilbur from the Edmonton Eskimos in exchange for a 2013 conditional sixth-round draft pick.

Wilbur, who had signed with Edmonton earlier this month, played for the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League in 2011. The University of Florida product appeared in 13 games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats two years ago, averaging 43.0 yards on 85 punts.

"Eric provides our team with depth at the kicking positions, specifically punting and kickoffs," said Blue Bombers general manager Joe Mack. "He will provide great competition for our young kickers in camp."
